Problems with new Yamaha CRW3200S

Hi all,

I recently upgraded my CD-RW drive to a new Yamaha CRW3200S. When I "Write Audio," the 'Speed' selector shows only "Max" with no other options and "Total Audio Time on CD" shows a mere 36 minutes (though the disc is rated for 80 minutes). Also, "Estimated time to write one CD" is ZERO. Something is wrong.

Is my new drive being properly recognized? I have the latest SoundForge & CD Architect updates.

[Without proper speed-selection, I'm worried that we cannot write CDs compatible with older CD players (which typically require 2x speed).]

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have same problem with new Plextor 40-12-40A. To make matters worse I now get buffer underruns. If only there were speed choices other than "Max."

My system is setup for video as well and provides a sustained read speed of 19MB/sec. A 40X burner only requires 6MB/sec.

I have been keeping CDA limping along for several years now. Don't know what I'll do. Don't want to spend $400 on VV3 for an "unknown" product. Adobe Premiere works great and has a long track record.
