Problems With Vegas Video 5 Explorer

I am new to Vegas. I am a Liquid Editions user, but Liquid does not allow me to fully utilize the power of my DVX100A. So with all of the ravings about the power of Vegas I have decided to at least test it out. I downloaded the demo, installed and ran it. The problem I have is with the explorer. When I open the explorer, I get a listing for system of the drives that’s I have, but when I click on any one of the drives, my right pane goes blank. If I right click on the drive, explorer current folder....I get error message that "An error occurred while attempting to explore 'WAC\C:' (WAC is the name of my Machine) and still my right pane remains blank. Odd thing is, if I browse to My Network Places then goto my machine I am able to view and explore drives that I have available as network shares.
De-installing and re-installing tried that. Did not work.
Have a trial installed on my home PC works fine.
I am working with an IBM Thinkpad T30 (P4 2.4, 1gig ram). I have an 80 gig installed. It is partition into 3 drives and a have an 80 gig drive in my ultrabay that I use for my media files. It seems that it will only access shared drives thru the explorer if I enter thru My network Places. Nothing local. It won't even access the shared drive on my local machine. It will only access it thru MY Network Places. I can access my all my files fine from the import media.

Upon futher examination I find that the problem exist with all of the sony installed apps (VV5, SF7 and DVDA2).

Search the forums, I know there is an answer to this somewhere. It has something to do with security settings, Windows, and the method that Vegas explores. Local drives should always show up, but mapped drives on a network only show up in Network Places. I believe the thread is clear back from early Vegas 4.

WayneC003, the search should land you an answer just as Spot said. You should get what info you need. If you don't, then post back here and someone of these great folks will be glad to help you.
