problems with VV demo

I'm trying to play with the Vegas Video demo but whenever I click on a clip to move into the timeline, the program shuts down. Sometimes I can quickly doubleclick it, and it goes into the timeline, but usually the program shuts down. The capture program seems fine. I'm running an XP system with 1.7 Gh processor, plenty of RAM .. should be enough juice. Any ideas what's wrong? Makes me worried about buying the full version ...

It's possible it could be a codec for the particular kind of file you're adding that's making it crash. What happens if you add different types of video files (i.e. wmv versus mpeg, etc...), or generated media, or still images. Does it still crash?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not able to open mpeg files at all in the VV demo. I can open avi's and wmv's, but the program crashes out when I click on these in the media library. If I open them with the file..open menu, no problem adding them to the timeline, but using the media library seems like a wash-out.

Hi jofo234 ,

You might try turning off the hardware accelleration on your computer's display. Sometimes that helps.
