processing widescreen pd150 footage

I was just wondering if anyone knows a good way to remove the dv compression noise from widescreen (stretched) footage from a sony pd150?

Was this shot on the PD150 with the camera switched to 16:9?
If so you have lost some resolution by having the camera use only part of its CCDs and stretching the image.
Artifacts are going to be more noticeable in 16:9 as the same number pixels are stretched accross a wider screen, any artifacts will therefore appear bigger.

yes i realise this, but does anyone know a good way to process it so that its less noticeable. thanks
