this was his reply: "I have the VP14 and mercalli 4 installed in my laptop, after installed VP15 I found the mercalli showing not registered, so I uninstall the mercalli 4, reinstall and activate thru VP15 again. Everything get well after the activation and works good in both VP14/VP15."

anyone else try doing it this way?

FYI he said he got it bundled with VP14

Would be nice, but there seems to be many users in this forum who have tried that by now. And it does not work.

I agree, wolfgang. he also posted a picture of it on FB under 15 with the version number. I'll give it a shot when I get home, but have no faith

tried clean uninstall and reactivate. didn't work for me.

If you really need Mercalli 4 in Vegas Pro 15, and have a serial from the bundled Mercalli that came with Vegas Pro 14, there is still the possibility of an upgrade with that bundled Mercalli serial at the proDAD page. Seems to cost $99, what is not for free but gives you both plugins for Vegas and the standalone application.

I dont have to have it too bad, just seems silly to not work. I can render stabilized out of 14 if needed. Tweaking the Vegas Stabilize works decent too.

andyrpsmith wrote on 9/12/2017, 12:59 PM

99% of the stabilised clips in my videos use vegas stabilize with default settings. There may a few cases where it crashes due to the clip but it does a great job.

I just paid the $99 upgrade price and am happy they came around and offered it to us.

Sounds fair. I paid something like $190 to buy it outright so it's a wash.

Hi Wolfegang S. would you know if the $99 upgrade is limited to VP15 and lower, or can it be used going forward?

thats the thing. I'm also curious if the "upgrade" shows the exact same version number :D

dcastar wrote on 9/13/2017, 9:11 AM

Just received an email from ProDAD; Looks like they want us to pay $99 to "Upgrade" to using the same product that was bundled with (and still working) in VP14.
*eyeroll*

Lost customer. I will look into other Stabilization software from this point forward.

The upgrade for Mercalli 4 and CMOS Fixr that was bundled with VP14 Suite is now available on proDAD's website for $99 US. https://www.prodad.com/Video-Stabilization-for-Professionals/Mercalli-V4-Plugins-for-Vegas-29796,l-us.html

That gets you the stabilizer, CMOS Fixr and a standalone version of the stabilizer. I purchased it last night.

Hi, was wondering if I "upgrade" will it work with VP13 as well? my question is this SUITE for Vegas comes with the standalone version of MercalliV4 right, so can I use that serial # to upgrade to the "SUITE for Edius" which also cost $99, hope you get what I'm saying thanks

I would ask proDAD, they do respond. The standalone version for stabilizing is just that, it will stabilize your video and save it in the format you choose, MOV or MP4. It is independent of any host video. When I installed the file the programs asked the versions I wanted it to work with and the choices were VP14 and 15 only. The plug-in part may not work in other versions.

I do not know that, you have to ask proDAD for that specific case.

When I purchased Mercalli 4 for Vegas more then a year ago, I came from an serial for Edius - so it was an upgrade for Vegas too. And that worked for VP13, 14 and now 15. But as said, if it is important to you ask proDAD.

Email to ProDad ...

My question is, if I purchase the NEW $99 upgrade, is it restricted to Vegas 15?  or will it continue to work with say Vegas Pro 16?

thanks

Answer from ProDad ...

Hello,

Yes, you can continue using it when Vegas 16 is supported from MAGIX. The version is not yet available.

with kind regards

mike-condon wrote on 10/4/2017, 9:19 AM

I just purchased the "NEW" "upgrade" for Mercalli V4 for Vegas... $99 includes Mercalli, Cmos fix, and Stand alone. I installed all, and entered the license #s and it all worked. I had NOT had a SAL version, just the ProDad inlcuded in V14. This seems to be a new item from ProDad, delivered frm "Edit5" company. It works, and you get the SAL version in the bargain... Not the best from Magix, but an OK relief from ProDad...

wwjd wrote on 10/4/2017, 9:54 AM

Why charge us $19.99 for a quick "PATCH" for the 14 version to work in 15, when they can get us for $99 every time we decide to upgrade Vegas versions? :D

Kinvermark wrote on 10/4/2017, 11:38 AM

You're confusing the issue again. The $99 is to bring your LIMITED license up to a REGULAR license. No issue of paying every time Vegas versions change with a REGULAR license. I didn't pay any upgrade fee for my REGULAR license - it works fine in Vegas 15.

Wolfgang S. wrote on 10/4/2017, 1:26 PM

Same here. There was no need to upgrade my regular Mercalli license when I switched from Vegas Pro 13 to Vegas Pro 14 or from Vegas Pro 14 to Vegas Pro 15.

yet there is NO REASON our bundled plugin shouldn't work in 15, like most of the rest of the plugins do. I'd pay $10 for a patch, but not $99 for another version when I already paid for a fully working version with 14. linked ONLY to 14 is a joke. And fixable probably by one line of code. Maybe even one hex code.

Kinvermark wrote on 10/5/2017, 10:54 AM

Yes, there is a reason: you didn't pay for it to work in Vegas 15.

Now, we all know you are annoyed, and can sympathize, but please stop spreading FUD just to get your revenge.
