Prodisc DVD+R Sale -- Good deal or are they duds?

Supermediastore.com has a great sale on Prodisc 4x DVD+R White Inkjet Printable discs. You can buy 100 of them for $65.00 (plus another 10% off if you put in the code: Prodisc10off). I have read everything I can on every forum I could find and there are very few comments about this disc. I'm guessing they are fairly new??

I've just ordered an Epson R200 and would like to order some discs. Have you used these discs? Are they reliable (only a few coasters)? How is the print quality (specifically with the Epson R200/R300 if you have it)?

In these forums, some people recommend sticking with quality discs such as Memorex, Maxell, Verbatim, and TDK. However, the quality discs also come with higher price tags. Can anyone compare the Prodisc with these higher-priced discs? How do they compare to Ritek (which seems to be a recommended reasonably-priced disc)?

Also, does anyone know if the Prodiscs at supermediastore.com are the same that are sold in Australia (they were highly regarded by some users in this forum)?

Thanks for your quick responses. The sale is almost over!!

Do a search here and at dv.com's dvd forum. Ritek, Memorex, and some other brand which I forget all now have around 90% compatibility. With Ritek so cheap, it what I buy.

I'm in Australia and use Prodisc DVDs and CDs exclusively.
From what I can gather these are probably NOT the same as the discs being marketed in Australia under that name. Last time I spoke with the guy who owns the Prodisc business he did mention being in some wrangle with someone in the US over breach of trademark.
Not saying for certain they aren't legit, if you want to contact the Australian business, they are at :
www.prodisc.com.au
I know them quite well but I cannot contact them until after the weekend to get the lowdown on what the US ones are.

if they are the 4x disks -- they are a very good bargin and have high compatability ... stay away from the 2x disks which were poor..

some people report on some burners having to burn at 2x for compatability in some players. But not ussually the case ..

Thank you all for the feedback. I think I may give them a try (then I can report back with my findings).

I would like to hear more about Prodisc Australia vs. Prodisc being sold in U.S.

Spoke with Prodisc in Australia today, they are not the same company. The ones on sale in the USA are from Prodisc Technologies, a Taiwanese manufacturer, 5th largest plant in the world. They cannot be sold in Australia as Prodisc is already a registered trademark here.
Seems Prodisc Technologies produce a good product but like most plants has a bad habit of changing the manufacturing process / raw materials, you may get variable results between batches.

If anyones interested by the way Prodisc Australia will soon be selling a DVD player also capable of playing DivX. I haven't seen the results from this unit but it uses a custom built decoder chip, starting with a HiDef master and the best encoder I'm assured the video produced is as good if not better than that from a Hollywood DVD. It will also playout all the DivX variants.
