Producing 16:9

I want to produce 16:9 on my TV through a DVD. I have a good 16:9 mode camera. When I record footage from a 16:9 DVD, and put it in a project with 16:9 from my Mini DV, the frames look the same. However, when I render the project and set it up in DVD Architect, I can not achieve the 16:9. I am using Vegas 4.0 + DVD. Is there some upgrade I am missing or what? Can someone tell me the steps to achieve this?

Vegas project properties set to Widescreen?
Rendering using the widescreen MPEG template?
DVDA project properties also widescreen?

I've tested that, and the frame is stretched vertically?

Then, retrace your steps and make sure you are doing EXACTLY what Liam says. You should see the video in Vegas preview in 16:9. If not, then check Switches/Maintain Aspect Ratio is checked.
