Producing a spot for 'The 2WENTY'

I'm going to be shooting and cutting a :15 that will be shown in a few Regal Cinemas on their pre-show system called 'The 2WENTY'.

I'd like to shoot in 16:9 anamophic witha DVX100a, and eventually render to an uncompressed AVI for hard disk delivery to CineMedia.

Anybody ever had any experiences with this sort of thing? I'm trying to figure out what frame rate to shoot at.

There specs are outlined here. On page 20 they say:

Alternate delivery of HD Content ONLY
1. Build your NLE timeline as 720P/59.94
2. Video source needs to be edge-to-edge 16:9 video adhering to title safe specs
3. 2-Channel Lt/Rt audio should be placed on timeline using -20dBFS reference level (for 5.1 discrete mixes see pg. 4 .wav option). Keep audio clean, as a “dry mix,” and avoid audio reverb effects.
4. Export QuickTime .mov or .avi
a. 1280x720 frame size
b. 59.94 frames per second
c. Use the “No Compression,” or “None,” Codec
5. Place on data DVD-R or FireWire/USB 2.0 hard drive for submission.

Well...what they've got there is very different than the Carmike chain does here.
they're asking for 720p 60, which means that you have a couple choices.
1. Varicam or other higher end cam that can do p60. (You could also use the JVC HD 100 and shoot 720p30 and then render to p60, although it won't do anything to double the frame rate.
2. Shoot 1080i, and then downsample to 720p60 to uncompressed.
This should look very good.

Carmike demands 1080p30 or 720p30 for their display, so when we build these ads for the local car dealer and chiropractic center, we shoot Z1, and deinterlace w/Vegas.

Looking at their spec, they'll take 24p 1080, they'll also take 1080i
It is likely they're asking for 720p60 in support of Varicam-acquired media.

Page 12 of their guide

"Posted in professional, uncompressed digital editor (ex. Avid, Smoke, Flame, Final Cut Pro, etc.)"

Phew.... I guess Vegas fits into the "etc" category????
