Production assistant

I have a question about if pa works like this. Let's say I am doing a car infomercial. Could I put text tracks on different named lines have them formatted on the first car. Then I would create a region with the layers text name-$8,988 when I wanted that layer's text to change to 8,988. I could just have regions on top of each other and it would change all matching text layer names to matching regioned names. It would keep the font, formatting and allow fade in/out/transitions with the matching regions. How does PA work? Simular?

There is no way to change text in Vegas with the Script API so no, Production Assistant can't do this.

JR, is there a way to change Takes from the Script API? If so, could that be used for this?

Yes, you can change takes with the script API. I'm not sure how that helps change text unless you stack all the text as takes and then select the current one, in which case there would be no way to know what text the take contains and therefore you won't know which take to switch to.
