Program terminated while rendering

I have tried several times to render several .m2ts files from Sony calmcoder video using the following template: AVCHD 1920x1080 PAL 5.1 Surround
Audio: 448 Kbps, 48 000 Hz, 5.1 Surround, AC-3 Studio.
Video: 16,0 Mbps, 25,000 fps, 1920x1080

Estimated file size was 4 - 9 Gb.
But everytime the rendering process was terminated by general fault at 16-30% and prograd terminated. This resulted the corresponding .m2ts outgoing file size - less 2 Gb.
What may be the reason for that fault?

The video content is captured from Sony SR11.

Appriciate for any advices.

Please read the archives of this forum, AVCHD exporting crashing is common and there is no solution unless Sony releases an update of their encoder.

That's why I gave up using a hd camcorder and went back to tape. You can experiment by converting 1st before importing and you won't loose too much degredation. Free converters are Super and Any Video Converter. BTW you may have to alter the extension to .mpeg.
