Program Will Not Start Up

My Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition will not start. It gets as far as 'Initializing audio Engine' then shuts down. Has anyone else experienced this?

Make sure you have the latest version of XP/Vista installed, with all the .NET updates. You might also want to update your DirectX version and audio driver.

If that doesn't work and Vegas gives you no other indication whatsoever or error message, re-install your OS and keep it clean of viruses, warez, spyware and what not.

BTW, make sure that this is NOT Platinum version 7. That version crashes on Vista with that error message. You need to go either back to XP, or buy the upgrade to Platinum 8.0d.

It would definitely help to know which version, and your system specs in your profile. Since you just joined, is this your first time starting up VMS, or was it a working installation that stopped working after some event?
