Programmed Pause During PlaybacK

I am doing an instructional video which the customer wants the playback to automaticly pause at certain points during playback to allow the viewers to discuss the question presented in the video. Does anyone know if it is possible to embed a pause instruction into the video stream that would cause a genaric DVD player to pause?

don't think so. Best you could do is go to a menu that waits for a button.

But people have paused VHS's for years. I'm sure the person would pause on their own.

Actually, HappyFriar's suggestion of going back to a menu page after each segment is a great one! Particularly if you used a freeze frame from your movie as a menu page background, it should seamlessly provide exactly the effect you're looking for.
