I am running Windows XP with SP2 on a Sony Vaio 2.8 Ghz, 1 Gig Ram. This is a production machine (vintage 2003) with LOTS of software loaded...which may not have been a problem...until recently.
Something (Windows or other software update) has caused Vegas Audio LE 2.0h to fail to launch. It had been operating flawlessly for years. As one of many experiments I have downloaded and installed Vegas Video LE 3.0...which also fails during launch.
Vegas Audio LE 2 will briefly display in the Task Manager process window and then disappear. Vegas Video LE 3 will ask for a serial number or "run the demo", a splash screen will appear for less than a full second, and then disappear while also disappearing from the Task Manager.
Any suggestions regarding where to investigate would be appreciated.
