PROJECT FILES

What is the difference between the following files:
1. Files under the welcome popup Recent Projects (5 recent files). Open goes to files found under 2 & 3.

2. Files found under the Import Media icon

3. Files under the File open icon

2 & 3 are the same, but 1 recent projects opens with projects. Where do I find the recent projects files?

Hello USN:

If I understand your question correctly, you want to know where the files in the Recent Project Files menu option reside on your drive. The answer is easy: they reside in the place you last saved them! That's not a smarty-pants answer; sometimes it can be tricky to find your files if you saved them and were not paying attention to the path. I've done that a few times myself.

Open a file from the Recent Project Files option, then choose Save As. Pay particular attention to the path that you see. That is where the files reside.

I hope that helps.

Regards,

Kimberly

Thank you! Not a smarty-pants answer, hit home. Corrected my file system and titles.

When you create a project, if you create sub-files under Media Bins. The Media Bins only pertain to that project. They do not transfer to each new project?

Correct on your media bins. They pertain only to the project they are created in. At first I found this annoying but later came to realize it made sense. Most of my projects are structured the same, so consistent media bins would be helpful. But others may have projects that differ greatly from one to another, so those users would have to edit the media bins if it was a "one size fits all" structure. Thus it makes sense to me that you must create your media bins for each project.
