Project frame rate change after pre-render

Is this a bug or a feature?
I'm working at HDV 23.976. When I do a short pre-render at 23.976 (shift+m), the project settings switch to 29.97. I've reproduced the error a few times tonight. Anyone have insight?

I am not using 9 so I am not sure, but make sure your Pr-Render settings match your project.

vegas should never play back faster then the project settings are set at, regardless of what's on the TL.

IE if the FPS is set to 5 & you do a prerender @ 29.97, it should render the file @ 29.97 but play back 5 from the TL.

Sounds like a bug.
