Project Properties - Audio Setting?

When setting up a new project, should the Audio Sample rate be set up for 48,000 for a dv project? I have never been sure whether the setting should 48,000 to match the video or 44,100 Hz to match background music in the video.

Vegas will auto-set the sample rate for DV for you, and resample anything that doesn't match, but there is nothing wrong with setting a default of 48k in your properties window. Mine is set up this way.
