Project Properties: Need Help.

Hello.

I am new to Vegas. Can someone please help me with project properties in VPro 9? The output goal is HD web video.

In Project Properties, under the Video tab, with AVCHD, do I choose:

Field Order: None (progressive scan)

Pixel format: Do I choose 8-bit, 32-bit floating point (video levels) or 32-bit floating point (full range)?

For Compositing Gamma do I want 1.000 (Linear) or 2.222 (Video)? Default was 1.000, so I left it there.

Do I check "Adjust source media to better match project or render settings"?

For the Prerendered Files Folder, Vegas suggests: C:\Users\Video\AppData\Local\Sony\VegasPro\9.0\.
Do I leave it there? Or should I create a similar folder on D:\ [Data] and use that?

AUDIO TAB:

Vegas gives the default 'Recorded Files Folder' as:
C:\Users\Video [computer name]\Documents.
Do I leave it here, or create a folder on D:\?

I need to post by tomorrow night. Any advice or suggestions you could give me would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

Norman

Norman,
At least this part of Vegas is not rocket science.

1) Open the Project Properties dialog
2) Click on the little "Folder" icon
3) Choose one of the Media files you are working with
4) Click "Apply"
5) Click "OK"

That's it. No worries. Your "Render" settings may be entirely different and are unaffected by your "Project" settings. Leave everything below the bar set at its default. OK?
