Project Templates in MSP16?

RgVideo wrote on 4/7/2021, 9:29 PM

I saw a YouTube video on using Presets and Templates to more easily create similar videos. You can have titles, video, etc. in the template.  He mentions it works on both Pro and Movie Studio and is using V18.

I can't find this on my MSP16.  Was the Templates feature introduced on Platinum after V16?

Thanks,
Ralph

Well Ralph, as you saw that on YT why not ask there to "He" that upload it?

VMS16 does not come with any project templates, but google can find a few sometime.

@RgVideo There's no facility for creating a template per se in Vegas Pro or Movie Studio Platinum. However, there is a workaround. Start a new project. Add your titles, video, etc to the project. Save it to a known location (maybe the desktop) with a suitable name (for instance MSP16 tempate 1). Next time you want that template, load it from your known location then immediately use 'Save As' with your required project name. The original template remains unchanged in the known location.

Jack S: Thanks for that tip! I remember seeing that here previously in regards to program settings, but not as a project template with media. I'll give it a try!

@RgVideo One thing I forgot. If you have 'Live Save' activated in 'Tools/Advanced Save' make sure that you save it as your new project before you do any editing. If you don't, the template will get overwritten.

Thanks for the warning. Since I'm just a basic user, I didn't even know about "Live Save". :)
