Project templates - what do you do?

Hi,

I've been wondering how to approach project management with VMS.

Quick background - I make quite a few mini-videos that all need the same 'corporate' look - same style title/intro, same fade lengths, same ending style, etc.

I thought it would be simple enough to set up a project as I needed, then just make the 'vf' file read-only to avoid accidentally saving it after loading in to VMS and making edits. But, VMS makes the file writeable without warning so this doesn't work too well in conjunction with my over use of the Save option.

Maybe there's some features of VMS I'm missing - am a new user coming from other video editing software - but there's no obvious sections in the help relating to this.

Thanks for any suggestions...

In Movie Studio, save your project with your titles, opening, closing, etc.
Then when you need it, open and "Save As" a new name right away.
This protects your original project.

Vegas Pro saves you all the trouble by incorporating nested projects.

In situations where i have a "master template" file, i usually make a copy of it with the new project name first before opening it.
