A correct projection mapping would need a 4 point corner mapping which is not available in Movie Studio. Though you could see how useful the Deform FX in Movie Studio is.
VPT7 and Movie Studio are completely different kind of program cores which are not compatible with each other.

I didn't know was VPT7 was (Video Projection Tool) and I don't fully understand what it does at this point, but if you simply need a means of mapping the 4 corners of the video, you can get a TON of free Fx from Hitfilm's "Ignite Express" collection, which I believe are compatible with Vegas Movie Studio (they are compatible with Vegas Pro).
Ignite Express includes a Quad Warp tool, which lets you grab the corners of your video -- inside the preview window -- and move them as you please. (For Free...)
I think you'd still be lacking masking capability in Movie Studio -- I don't see that as part of Ignite Express -- but maybe you could create a matte/mask in another program and use "multiply (mask)" compositing?

Thanks for the info. For yrs I have been using LOR (Light O Rama) to run my Christmas display. 64 channels means using hundreds of ext. cords. Decided to learn something new and do projection mapping. Instead of all the ext. cords I have one power cord and html cable. Here is a short video of what I would like to attempt. I am looking at several projection mapping software and learning about other ways of maybe accomplishing this. Really appreciate the info
