It doesn't with the projectors i use. I won't guarantee that all are that way though.

Are you asking should you use save area that you normally should plan for in
analog TV viewing? I would plan for a safe area.

My projector does not but the setup of the black mask has only a few
dots overlapping on the screen's black border. If it gets bumped you can nudge it
or use the menu to adjust for angular distortion.
