I will begin shooting with my Optura Pi within the next week. The Optura has a 30 progressive mode to shoot with. My final output will probably shown with a SVGA/ SXGA projector. I will be mixing two video sources together with a mixer during the show. My questions are:
1) Should i use the progressive mode when shooting the footage so that i can pull stills and create effects in After Effects/ Vegas?
2)Should i shoot interlaced since the images are going to be fast moving and mixed with the other video source? Fades and cuts will be done instantly.
3)Could i shoot progressive (edit stills and add effects) then convert to interlaced if need be?
The main concern i have is mixing the images and how the projector is going to display the image. I am confused as to how the projector will display interlaced vs non-interlaced footage? I plan on using DVDs and a miniDV deck connected to a mixer. NTSC.
Thanks.
