Projects sucking helium

I have VMS Platinum version 6 latest build (85)

Here's a strange one. I was working on a test project when I noticed the sound was accelerated - like everybody was sucking on helium. (I guess the video was too). As I was clicking and changing things like a mad man before this occured I am not sure what I did to cause this to happen. I closed the project and opened another and the same thing - everybody sucking helium! I could stretch it out to where it sounded "normal", but was still puzzled. Since it was universal I figured it was something in preferences (and I use the default) - so I just restored to the default settings, closed everything out and then reopened and all was well.

So what setting would cause this to happen? I never intentionally changed anything in the preferences prior to the event.

Any clues out there?

You could have copy/pasted event attributes without realizing it? Had playback rate button accidentally slid to right?

You nailed it DSE! I had no idea that the playback rate ( that little triangle) could be slid forward - and stay there! Apparently in my bobbing and weaving to sync up an effect I snagged the thing without realizing it. Thanks for the revelation.
