Proper setting for souce video

I have created a "movie" in Swish, a program similar to Flash...

I can export the movie as an avi and have a number of different compression selections from which to choose....

I chose Cinepak by Radius and exported (created an avi)at the original movie size of 720 x480. (I tried uncompressed avi and it would not "play" when imported into VV3)

When I did a "File, New", I chose the settings :NTSC DV, 720x480, 29.97, Upper field first, and Pixel Aspect Ratio of 0.9091 (NTSC DV)

I imported my media and observed that on the preview window, everything looks fine..(the movie has a number of circular elements) but on the timeline, the circle elements look more like an oval...(sides squished in)

I really need my cirles to look like circles...Assistance greatly appreciated....
