ProRes come in with 16 audio tracks?

I am doing some editing for someone and they provide me with ProRes files that were recorded using a Blackmagic recorder. For some reason I get 16 tracks of audio.

That is common if they do not change their capture settings in Final Cut Pro.

The black magic recorder doesn't really have any options for recording. It's prores HQ and all 16 audio tracks. I'm fine with the HQ part, bit the 164 empty tracks of audio are a waste of disk space.

It's a great deck for the price. You need to pay a lot more if you want options.
