ProRes LT - no Audio

A client just dropped off a hard drive of footage from a 6 camera shoot, the files are 1080p ProRes LT. Dropped them into Vegas 14 - hoping they'd work properly now that there's ProRes support... but, surprisingly there is no audio. Video shows up, but nothing for sound. Checked all the files in QuickTime, and there is audio on all the cameras. Movie inspector shows there are 8 audio channels in each video file, but Vegas 14 is only reporting it as stereo. Dropped the same files into Vegas 13 and it shows all 8 audio channels and plays audio fine.

If it worked in 13 and does not in 14, it is clearly a bug. So I suggest you make a formal bug report because most of us here are just users and cannot do anything about it.

Vegas 14 doesn't support (hopefully yet) multi channel audio.

Yah that's what I figured and kind of disappointing. Granted this is a rare situation as we don't often take other people's media and work with it. Oh well guess we'll stick with Vegas 13 for a while yet!

The Multi channel audio support is not perfect yet on VP14.211.

The workaround to this is to go to C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 14.0\FileIO Plug-Ins , then disable the mxhevcplug.dll by rename that folder to something else (e.g. mxhevcplug_off), then, export each audio channel separately to WAV.

Close VP14.211, enable again by rename the folder mxhevcplug.

Working with qt7plug.dll in VP14 give you more contrast footage.
