Protitle in Pro8 - Is it a joke?

Hi Guys,

I tried to make a short sequence of some dropping and spreading title containing 5 to 8 text sequences in Protitle and the two first modules worked out fine, even if it is hard to change the preset text in each module since I have to scroll in the timeline to the point where the text appears. From the third module protitle was going ballistic. The sequences (everytime the same style but different text) were changing or not even running.
I have tried to compare the notworking modules with the first two but there was no difference. Is the Protitle in "Beta" status, just a trial version or what can I expect from this?

Regards

Axel

Hi

I just worked for a couple of hours with Pro Titler the last weekend, and had no problems at all. I also had to scroll the timeline to change the text, and it took me a while (and another look at spot's training DVD) but after I got a refresh on this I had it working just fine.

I remember some people havin probles with 8.0, but not sure reg. 8.0a

Hi,

my version is actually 8.0a, so I should have a "fixed" one. What freaks me out is, that even if the preview shows errors the rendering later is the same. Something is changing the parameter, when I drag it in the timeline of protitle. Also the solution to search for the text untill it appears the first time to change the text is not very handy. Who was programming this, a trainee?

There really is no reason or need to insult the Madison Engineers. Not withstanding, it's not a great way to collect brownie points either. IF in fact it is a bug as opposed to hardware conflicts/malfunctions or operator error...then it happens, and it happens with ALL software. Fill out an incident report found on the support pages and they will look into it.

I know what trainees can do, so sorry to the poor engineer but it happens on two completly different machines so it can not be a random hardware/operator failure. What's now? Bothering customer care of Sony? Who knows how they have setup their machines? Is it a Win XP problem? Do I have to much RAM
Don't take me wrong, it's a nice tool and I wanna use it but unfortunately it is not working like it's supposed to be. The only thing that I have done is using a composition and changed the text. So whats wrong with that?

I think its more insulting that we pay our hard earned money for something thats not close to ready til version c or d.

True, but it's cheaper when released. I haven't installed mine yet, I'm waiting for the C or D version.
