all mine are in the "c:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Sony\Titler 1.0\Collection". The new folder has been renamed "Collections". I copied/pasted my collections from the "old" folder to the "new" folder & they showed up next time I restarted Vegas.

You're welcome. :)

Same here. Renamed it to Collections and I'm away... but how were we supposed to know this??

i made a new preset.

from years of working with games, you learn real quick that when you get an update, if somethings broke, find out if it's broke or just changed. most of the time there's not much the company can/will do & you need to figure out how to get things working.

so i made a new preset to see if anything in the xml changed. Went to the folder & there were two folders containing presets where before there was only one. had it figured out within minutes of his post.

after all, when you come up with some pretty cool collections you don't want to loose them. :)

Indeed.

Any good Leslie? You back, up and running?

In Vista it's as follows:
\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Titler 1.0\Collection

The new Collections folder is not there unless you do a "save to collection" or
create the folder yourself. Then you can copy the XML'S in your old Collection folder into the new Collections folder and next time you start Vegas all is well. WHEW!!!
BTW, ProType help has it wrong. It stills refers to the folder as Collection, and gives you no clue as to the folder name change. What a difference an "s" makes.

thanks one and all (and grazie 2) - but i mean why? why rename it and NOT at least bloody well point it out... i was so shocked, all those hours of work gone just like that - yes, had backed them up, and also have acronis - backed up every week, but still, i don't need the adrenaline rush...

any ideas about prodad being stuffed up now? looks to my untrained eye as if there's a scripting problem, but well beyond my knowledge.

anything else anyone's found of ill-note in 8a that i / we should be aware of?

the only thing I can come up with is that "collectionss" is the correct way to say it as normally you have multiple collections, thus plural.
ushere wrote on 10/19/2007, 1:48 AM
btw hf,

your small collection was an inspiration - have started doing a few of my own 'generic' style do-dahs...

is ther anywhere else that we can exchange them - not that i have any problems at all continuing on edwards 'jetdv' site...

you can put them up on vasst.com but ever since they did a redesign i've found it harder to find files.

Thanks for the heads up on this. We'll investigate the problem this week.

hi mike!

and here i am in a glorious spring morning, thinking it can't get any better - well, with a few caveats...

good site, though i saw nothing re prot.

also very happy to see forum admin picked up the bug / error / whatever. it's very satisfying to know someone IS out there ;-}

As Tom said, it really was a beautiful (and warm!!) fall day here as well.
Enjoy it while you can though Tom because you know it's going to get colder soon :-(
Very strange weather this month. Thanksgiving ( at the beginning of the month) was like today. A week later I had the furnace on because of frost. Another week and I almost have to turn the air conditioning on again.

leslie, I agree that Jonathon's site didn't have any ProType stuff. Doesn't mean that it wouldn't be a good place to start sharing though.

hf,

i know they're bloody well out there - but why are they always picking on me?

:-} leslie

mike, once i get a couple of these projects out the door, i'll certainly start looking to post some prot stuff. it has great potential, as i'm finding out all the time, but what really pisses me off no end, is not having even the vaguest practical manual for it. took me what seemed a lifetime (well a couple of hours) to figure out the ins and outs of using curves....

that said, it's a toss up whether to have a quick play with prot, or go on the ride-on and chop down the masses of pattersons curse growing in one of the paddocks....

ye-ha, the ride-on wins out
TheHappyFriar wrote on 10/21/2007, 10:55 PM
once you go curves you find it hard to use other, older parts of vegas. one thing 3d apps have down pat is curves. vegas could use curves in everything.... much better then just keyframe icons.
ushere wrote on 10/21/2007, 11:07 PM
too right! never really taken with vegas keyframes, but i didn't know what i was missing....
