I feel a little silly asking this, but how do you install and use your preset?
Yarin VooDoo wrote on 1/31/2008, 11:16 AM
Ciao,

unzip the file in the folder:

C:\Documents And Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\Sony\Titler 1.0\Collections

If the "COLLECTIONS" folder doesn't exist, create it.

Then open Vegas Pro 8, create a new video track and put a blank PTT, than, in COLLECTIONS menu -> CUSTOM you can find NEON preset, drag and drop it on timeline.

Vegas Pro 8 ProType Presets. Right click & save to "C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Titler 1.0\Collections" in Vista or "c:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Sony\Titler 1.0\Collections" in XP.

NOTE: Vegas 8.0a changed the folder name to "collections". Notice the extra "s" at the end. So if you're using the origional version, put then in the folder labeled "collection". All updated versions use "collections".

That's a cool looking preset. Very sweet! :D I'd imagine with a hollow font it would look even better. :D

My "AppData" folder was there but hidden. Should it be?
Yarin VooDoo wrote on 1/31/2008, 11:48 AM
Ciao,

I think it's simply the default preset of WinXP Explorer, this isn't a problem.

I can't seem to make it work. I'm using Vista 64 and the directory structure seems to be different
Yarin VooDoo wrote on 1/31/2008, 12:09 PM
Ciao,

Have you tried this:

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Titler 1.0\Collections

As suggested by TheHappyFriar?

Why "Roaming"?

Ciao,

uhm...I don't know, sorry!
I use WinXP so I don't know where Vista put PTT Files.

Open PTT and create a simple custom preset and search it on HDD, in the same place put my preset.
The first time I made this to find the PTT Collections folder.

Kewl.... I just started playing with PTT this week and I'm thoroughly impressed by its capabilities. Not the easiest to learn, but once you dive into it, you begin to see the possibilities. Not only is the NEON effect great, but it's a great PTT learning tool for the user.

Thanks again,

Bas

Here's a DVD menu animated background I knocked off in no time at all using PTT and some inspiration derived from posts in this forum:

It's a 10 second sequence seamlessly looping (the blink in the animated gif is an artifact produced by PP, which I used to create the gif from the VV produced .avi)

Yarin! - Thanks, Most Excellent.

Now, I want to know this .. . You have one named as "Car Crash" and the other is "Neon" - Why can't the NAME be reflected in the actual ON-screen and PTT Timeline?

What I've got are 2 new lumps called "Sample Text"? However when I choose the "Jump" from collections it is named as "Jump" everywhere. What's all that about?

And and and . . I've got my OWN names which show, but an IMPORTED one - Yarin's - doesn't reflect the naming by Yarin? Anybody repro this?

Love the animations!!!! Not a little work on your part!
Yarin VooDoo wrote on 2/1/2008, 10:37 AM
But you mean the text in the animation or the preset name in Collections menu?

If the first...well...you're right, I change the presets and re-upload.

I've got my OWN names which show, but an IMPORTED one - Yarin's - doesn't reflect the naming by Yarin? Anybody repro this?

I apologize, but I don't understand this, can you explain?

Love the animations!!!! Not a little work on your part!

all you linked now was animated .gif's, not the actual presets. :D

Yeah, how about some presets? Please

Make sure you're logged in otherwise a gif is all you see.

edit: When I try to unzip either one, I get the message "The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted".

I got an idea...

If people create a wishlist of preset types they would like to see - then some of us could make up a collection set, with catagories that could be universally available (?)

I can host such a thing if desired

Not sure how to catagories though - maybe
"moving" / "simple" / "colorful" - I dunno!

Grazie

Mine shows up in the Collections list as "Neon", and when I drag it down to the timeline the first line is called "Sample Text" because that is the text supplied. If I highlight and replace this with, say "Yarin's Neon", then this becomes the name of the first line in the Timeline.

Thanks Yarin - nice work - hopefully this way we can gradually accumulate a nice collection of .... Collections between us!

Here my last preset...(Please stop me! eh eh eh! :D)

[Title]BALOONS Preset[/Title]

Download Here

I modified all presets to report in the Collections Preview Window the same name of the preset, I also uploaded the files on other web space so you can download directly the zip without waiting for Rapidshare countdown.

logged in to what? I'm logged in to the forum. I see a link that's a gif file location, click it & it opens up an animated gif. he changed something from the first preset he posted, that worked fine.

YARIN! - Balloons is pure lyricism! Love it.

BAS!!! - Great starter tutorial sampler for anybody wanting to leap into this work - Love it!
