Proxy in Vegas Exploer vs Project mananger

I know i have to put the video files project media to make proxy files for my source files, when I am editing do I need to take them from project manager to the time line to get the benefit of the proxy or can I drag them out of Explorer into the timeline and still get the benefit of the Proxy files I have made from the Project manager?

Once the proxy files are made it doesn't matter if you drag the source file from the Vegas Explorer or from Project Media.

Only thing to take care of is to use the proper preview setting to let Vegas Pro use the proxy files. Draft and Preview uses proxy files. Good and Best uses the original source files.

yes thank you, I had actually read the manual this time :) it does not say if you have to use project manager or not. Thanks again...
