PRSConfig.resources.dll

While sorting out an separate, unrelated issue, I notice there were seceral folders within Program Files (x86) that contain the above dll file.

The folder names are: de, es, fr and ja-JP. PRSConfig.resources.dll is the only file in these folders. A Google search has thrown up a couple of sites suggesting these files are related to Sony Creative Software inc.

Does anyone have any further info on these and can they be safely deleted? Some sites suggest they could be related to Malware but I run Malwarebytes, Spybot S & D and CCleaner on a weekly basis always fully updated plus MS Security Essentials did a full scan yesterday with nothing untoward reported.

In case it helps I have Pro 10 (32 and 64bit) and Pro 12 installed

Obviously they are localized files - do not know what country you are in but this surely only relates to the language you choose on your PC

Thanks for the reply.

I'm in UK and assume that de=Germany, es=Spain, fr=France and JA-JP=Japan. Never had my region set to any of those.

Do NOT delete that file. It's part of Vegas' debugging.

Understood, except shouldn't I just have a folder under en or uk?

No idea....

However, a long time back, SONY had me run the PRSConfig.exe file to lower the error detection level as Vegas would not load.

That's all I know about the file name...
