PSD Problems

I'm trying to import transparent psd files into Vegas 9c in a way that I have many times but all I get on the timline is an error message where the file is situated saying:
"This layered photoshop file was not saved with a composite image"

I've done this many times, why is not working now : (

This was caused by unchecking "maximise compatibility" option within Photoshop. All good again : )

Is it in RGB mode?

Yes, I always use RGB, Vegas had a lot of problems with any other profile.

wghich version ps?

why .psd? curious since i used to use them before i discovered the practicality (in vegas at least) of .png.

CS3 Extended, I should use png after what I have read from this forum, but got into the habit of using psd. Never had problems until I unchecked the Maximise Compatibility option in Photoshop. I thought that by doing this I would stop the dialog box appearing every time.Anyway things are back to normal now.
