Psychedelic timeline video

I was trying to help a user on this forum that was having trouble using the huffyuv codec in Vegas. I installed the codec with no problem, captured some video using my ATI capture utility, and brought the video into Vegas.

It previewed perfectly using the Vegas Explorer preview utility. Also, when I put it on the Vegas timeline, the preview also looks normal. However, the video "picons" on the timeline look totally psychedelic -- weird colors, sort of like infrared film. If I render to any format -- DV, huffyuv AVI, or MPEG2 -- I get the same colors.

Has anyone had this experience? It would be interesting to be able to bypass DV video for some projects, and avoid the 4:1:1 colorspace reduction (rendering out to the DVD 4:2:2 colorspace).

Isn't there some Huffy RGBA/YUV switch? Try flipping that to whatever it isn't currently...

Look through the document first:

You can play around with the options. There aren't many.

But I want to use the YUV option.
Please don't tell me that that isn't possible!

Doesn't RGB means that there is a loss in quality?

Yeah, yuv is the whole point. You won't have to lose it to fix the problem, I think. However you're trading what is probably a really, really tiny quality difference for performance.

Search through the forums. Huffyuv has been discused a lot.
