Q: After autosave.veg.bak ? What then?

Grazie wrote on 6/12/2012, 1:21 AM
When I/we get that "This project did not close properly . . . . " and I accept and SAVE it with a name, what SHOULD happen to this and ALL those Auto . . . and Bak files residing in the Temp folder?

Cheers

Grazie

Ummmmm, i should think that the only thing that happens is that a new .veg file is created with the name you gave it. I can't see that anything else would happen besides this. What are you expecting?

Well, what happens is the "restore" remains! And that's what I wouldn't expect.

The "restore" file is a .veg file just like any other. What would you think would happen if you loaded a file named "alpha.veg", then saved-as "beta.veg"? You now have two files, alpha.veg still being the original and beta.veg being the new one.

Same thing happens when you load a restore file and save-as to some other name.

Yes, but I'm a human, end User, and not a pc. When I Restore that's it.

I do wish that the restore file contained some semblance of the name of the project i had been working on. If i was editing a file named "julies_baby_shower.veg", it would be nice if the restore file was named "julies_baby_shower-restored.veg". That way when i go back and look in the directory and see eight restored files from the past couple years i have a better clue what each one was from.
