QT questions

Is V4 only capable of rendering to Quicktime 5 by some installation default? I have QT 6 player installed and thought it would be an option in the templates. How does this work? I do know QT has to be installed before installing V4 in order for it to work correctly but what happens when I upgrade QT later on?

Also, I've put up WMV's, RM's and QT's on my website and the first two stream fine from it, however the QT does not start at all, it's only downloadable by right clicking. Would you try if you get the same results? If so, any ideas to solve it?

QuickTime doesn't have to be installed before Vegas. I've had Vegas already installed, then installed QuickTime afterwards and had the QuickTime templates appear the next time i run Vegas. However, you do have to install QuickTime's authoring components rather than just the basic (default) install. It's been suggested that to be safe, you should do a complete QuickTime install to get all the modules.

Don't do much q/time, but aren't there encoding settings specific to q/time for this? Seem to remember a few options like quick start or something like that using the stand-alone player/encoder.

I'll have a look into it.
