in vegas movie studio platinum 6.0, how do i make a "quad split", in other words, a video that has the screen split into four quadrants, with moving video in the upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right, all playing at the same time?

does this require multiple passes?

any tutorial help is most appreciated!

Just create four pan/crops with your media sized large. In other words, open the pan/crop tool, turn off size about center, and scale the border large so it moves away from the corner you want to place. You'll see quickly what I mean. If you want to mail me through my name here, I can build you a vf file real quick, and you'd just need to replace the media. It would teach you quickly how to do it by dissecting what I'd build.

I did a copy/paste of an earlier reply on this question. Here it is explained:

Basically, I do this "by the numbers". Open the Event Pan/Crop for each of the 4 tracks one at a time. On opening the first one, you will see that the Width = 720 Height = 480, X Center = 360, Y Center = 240.

First change the Zoom to 25% so you can see what you are doing.

Then change the four tracks to read:

W=1440 H=960 XC = 0 YC = 480 (top right)

W=1440 H=960 XC = 720 YC = 480 (top left)

W=1440 H=960 XC = 720 YC = 0 (bottom left)

W=1440 H=960 XC = 0 YC = 0 (bottom right)

This will put them EXACTLY in the right place.

You can download WAX. It has this feature. I did it a couple of times and it looks good. http://www.debugmode.com/wax/

i used the coordinates in the other posted reply, but I can't seem to get the "overlay" track to work----it can be positioned into a corner, but it doesnt allow the other tracks to show....i must be missing one thing....and yes, a "vf" file would be very appreciated!

look into the parent - child setup - you have to set one as the parent and the other tracks as "children" metaphorically speaking. It's pretty easy to set up the right relationship.
