Quality difference Preview Time Line and Clips

Hi Guys,

I'm running Pro 8 and I have two LCDs, one as the work area and one for pre view. The preview LCD is only 1600x1200 which is not good wide screen for 1080i projects but thats what I have. My point is, if I preview a clip in the file manager on the second screen it is crisp and sharp with the black areas at the top and bottom of the picture. As soon as I bring this clip in the time line and let play there it is blurry like the software is changing the resolution. The project properties are for 1080i so I don´t see the issue here. In the preview properties it is set to Best and Automatic. What do I do wrong?

Thanks

Axel

"Automatic" means the preview will be scaled to the size of the preview window. If your preview window is still sitting in the corner of the editing screen then it's probably something like 320x180 or so. The image on the other monitor will be this preview size stretched across the whole screen.

Try Full instead of Automatic.

Thanks,

I have tried yesterday also full. The window in the right upper corner shows just a part of the screen but on the second screen it's still the same blurr. When I preview a clip in the file liste it's ok. So it seems like Vegas is scaling the resolution down to safe CPU capacity but is blowing it full up to the second screen.
When I check in Options the second screen it says something second display is not connected but it is and it's playing on it so how can this be?

If you are using Draft(Full) or Preview(Full), try Good(Full) and Best(Full) instead.

Problem solved. I have never tried Best in combination with full. Now it works :-)
