quantize to frames not working in v10

Hello
I make a time-lapse every day by combining avi files from my webcam on the movie studio timeline. The files (clips) seem to end with a partial frame. Even with snap enabled little blanks appeared at the clip junctions and thus black flashes in the finished video. In v9 "quantize to frames" eliminated this problem and snapped the clips together without a small gap. It doesn't work in v10. Any ideas?

Are you sure the project frame rate matches the source files? The webcam probably produces 30fps files. If you place these in a 29.97 project then the end frame of the source video will only match a project frame boundry 3 times out of every 10,000 frames. Quantize to frames will only snap the first frame of an event. The last frame simply ends up ... wherever it ends up. Perhaps in your version 9 projects you had created a project template that had matched the source files.

It's also possible that your webcam files are malformed and the duration is incorrect in the file header.

To get rid of the gaps i'd just trim the end of the event back to the previous frame boundary. If you don't match the project frame rate to the source clips then i would also disable resampling so that you don't get ghosted frames from blending.

How do I disable resampling?

Right-mouse-button click on the video event. From the popup menu choose Switches / Disable Resample.
