Ok, so i had vegas 4.0 installed previously and there was this bar where i could place points on it, and change various things of the text..let me give an example......

say there was a screen with the text 'vegas' on it, i place a point on the bar while 'vegas' is in the middle of it, then i move 'vegas' or add some effect, and click further down on the bar and then it makes it so between the two points it performs the desired action.

Well anyways, i reformatted..re-installed vegas 4.0 again, and the bar isn't there and i cant find it anywhere, can someone help me out here, i really want my barrrrr

Yes, that's the timeline in the text dialog where you add keyframes. That area is resizable. Try two things:

1) Go to the bottom of the dialog and make the dailog box LARGER. If that doesn't bring it back,

2) Put the cursor inside the dialog box and slowly drag toward the bottom of the box. As soon as the cursor changes into a up/down arrow (note: this is BEFORE you reach the outline which will resize the entire box), click and drag UPward.
