You CAN install on a 2nd computer. The only limitation is you can't use both computers to run Vegas at the same time. Just install it on the second machine and if necessary use (try anyway) to use the register on another computer method. I only said that because I always seem to have a devil of a time getting a activation on a non Internet connected PC, has nothing to due with the license.

Vegas creates an activation code based on a computer's unique identity. You can not register on two computers using the same activation code. Tthat's why you have to go through the process twice. If you don't have internet, Vegas creates a html file for you. You must copy that to a diskette and open it on a computer with internet connection. Then you will (eventually) get an email with a .reg file that you can copy and doubleclick in the new computer - that will take care of the registration for you. Or you can just copy the activation code into the activation dialogue - which will, in the end, amount to the same thing.
