Question about DV rendered GL2 frame mode captures

I have a simple question that Im most probably overlooking the answer to. I have captured footage 30p using frame mode in my GL2. I edited my prject and export back out to tape. I then brought my footage back into Vegas to edit further and noticed that its not 30p but 29.97p

My question is this. Im pretty sure when I exported to tape that I made a mistake and exported to NTSC DV 29.970p. Vegas wont let me change the frame rate to 30.000p for NTSC DV so how do I get my progressive footage exported as 30p back to tape?

I can definitely notice a difference in quality when viewing the different frame rates.

From what I understand 29.97 is 30 frames, just extended to actual, not rounded off,

What confuses me is that you are noticing a quality difference in your footage, I use frame mode once in a while from the XL1, capture with Vegas and edit ntsc dv set at best, works great no issues

but my question is this. when i capture from gl2 with my custom settings of 30p and then i render after making my edits that in the preview window its black and renders quickly. but when i capture a 29.97 rendered back to tape from the gl2 and then render after editing that the preview pane shows the video. This tells me its changing something during rendering.

Is there anyway to send captured 30p back to the gl2 tape as 30p?
