Question about opacity

I have a video track about 5 minutes long, and I guess I'm looking for some kind of opacity envelope, where I can control with points the opacity of the track.

I want it to fade in and out several times through the video.

How?

To vary the opacity, you use a "Composite Envelope".

If you want to fade all the way out, you can always split the video and do a standard fade in/out by moving the mouse to the upper corner, it will turn into a quarter circle icon, then click and drag toward the center.

Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for... I should have tried it before posting, but it really didn't sound like what I was looking for. Why didn't they name it "Opacity Envelope" so I would have known? :)

And I knew I could split the track a bunch of time times and fade in/out, but the envelope is much better, thanks again!
