Question about V8Pro and Blackmagic

I have a system set-up using Blackmagic Designs MultiBridge Pro and Vegas 8 Pro. When I record a sequence using Blackmagics Media Express application and import it into Vegas's timeline, I have a problem...If the recorded clip is set for 720P 8 bit, when I bring it onto the time line, the clip is solid red in color. It will preview/playback via the Blackmagic preview device just fine, but if I want to render it out to the same, or even a different format, it stays red. If I create the clip as a 10 bit clip, it looks like it has lost horizontal hold...Still previews out fine, but again, if rendered it retains the "lost horizontal hold" appearence. I'm sure there is something in the setup that is wonky, but I'll be damned if I can find the setting. Creating any flavor of HD, be it 720P or 1080i works fine from within Vegas, it's just these clips.

Odd thing is, it was working just fine at one point before lunch, then when I came back, it started doing this...I've re-booted the system and the MultiBridge to no avail.

Any ideas on what I've got set wrong?

Thanks!

Could it be you've lost external sync or changed the setup so it's trying to lock to an external reference that you're not supplying.
I'm not that familiar with the Multibridge Pro so I'm taking a stab in the dark with what I'm saying here.

The Blackmagic unit has a sync input, but it's only relative to timing the output into a system...It has no effect on it's recordings...It just does a straight, uncompressed .avi recording...It's that recording I drop onto a Vegas timeline. The same recording plays fine with their Media Express playback software...The reason I'm concened is because I know we'll be FTP'ing spots in produced by other producers using Blackmagic based systems that I'll want to put in a timeline to modify...

I'm sure it's a seting somewhere within Vegas, as it was working just fine at one point...I've been playing around with different settings for a few hours this afternoon, and still not having any luck sorting it out...

Thanks for the idea on the sync though, just to be absolutely sure it's not a factor, I'll hook it up and make sure.

Cheers!
