I am just curious if anyone can say why Vegas Post 19 only includes sound forge audio studio and NOT the pro? every other year it had pro in it. thanks! Bryan
Okay... fair enough... I guess it did only come out last year... I just feel a little "downgraded" and they did include other stuff to play with but still...
This was honestly a bitter one for me as well. While Sound Forge is developed by Magix, we at VEGAS Creative Software operate as a separate company...as such, negotiations for bundled items are usually difficult and in this case, we were only able to get the Audio Studio application for this version of VEGAS Pro. It is a bit unfortunate, but Sound Forge Audio Studio is still a very capable program and we still have a good integration with it in VEGAS Pro.
I've used vegas pro since v2 and sound forge since v6... I'm used to the pro so I may have to upgrade to pro 15 at some point... so they "win" in that regard... the biggest surprise for me in audio studio is no vst plugins...

This is from VEGAS Creative Software website.
What happens to Sound Forge Pro now? Is it going to stop working at some point?
It kind of feels like less value for the same money all around: Sound Forge Pro downgrade, BorisFX Primatte Studio instead of Key and Blend Unit + Lights Unit (Pro 16). There always used to be something in those bundles that I wanted. This time two things are rebundled that have been part of Pro before, in better versions (Sound Forge Pro, BorisFX Key and Blend Unit). Fingers crossed for something more interesting next time.
It's bad enough to have to worry about the software stabilization, but now to have to question the stability of the company randomly swapping out inferior products in place of the Pro version of a title makes me a little suspect. I will never do an early buy again. You pay a higher price than the newly released version. They make you wait longer to get the product while others pay a lower upgrade price and get it the same day? I feel like I am dealing with a "Used Car Salesman". If I had not have invested 14 years of using this product I would have demanded a refund and taking this elsewhere. I'm sure my argument should be to Magix and not the creative team here in the US. Sorry for the rant. I'll see myself to the door.
what's worse is that the vegas post installer downloads audio studio but at least for me it did not authorize it and no sound forge serial number was included in my order email... I had to email support... I hope they will rectify this.. at least I can still use sound forge 14 pro for now.
Is it safe to assume that if we already have a licence for Sound Forge Pro 14 through Vegas Pro/Post 18 that it will remain useable in Vegas Pro/Post 19?
@MikeS ... one way to find out is to install the trial version of Vegas Pro 19 and link your Sound Forge Pro 14 to 19 via Options/Preferences/Audio and then the Preferred Audio Editor field.
Yes Michael. as long as you have the perpetual license and not the subscription I can confirm the sound forge pro v14 still works fine after install of vegas 19 pro. I still have it as my default editor since my license of the new "audio studio" is non-existent at this point...
