Question about Vegas Skrips.

Sorry form my maybe stupid question:
I am in the need to find a workflow to encode thousands of hours of analog video Tapes to a defined set of digital formats such as mpg2, mpg4, flash and jpg-frames.
Of course there are tools out there that can handle this task: for example from Telestream or Anystream. But they are very expensive tools.
I am just thinking:
Is it possible to use Vegas scripts to make an “Export tool” that exports an exact set of this formats and maybe enter a “job done” to a database whenever finished an export.
And as I am not familiar with this: Is there a company out there who can create such a tool?
Thanks for any comment!

Yes that is possible. If you are wanting settings different than the default presets you'll need to create your own presets to use. Scripting can render to any preset but you cannot change the render settings via a script.

You would have to capture the analog tapes but, once captured, the script could render the captured video into as many different formats as you wish.

Vegas CANNOT render to flash, though. The script would only render to the formats Vegas can render to.

Thank you for that first answer!

As vegas can not render to Flash, would it be possible to use the Vegas script to start up a third party application to render the flash file?

Whats more: I had a look to some scripts.. this is far to much for me! is anybody out there, who can write this kind of skrips - and get payed of course?
