HELP PLEASE.....Vegas Movie Studio + DVD. I'm new...desparately need to know how to increase the speed of playback. Found Video Event Properties - General Tab - Playback Rate, but it only allows an increase of 1.0 to 4.0 & its not fast enough for what I need. Need fast forward playback of a setion of the video with a voice over narration during the fast forward frames. Thanks so much for any help you can give :)

Can you accomplish your intended result by dragging the right edge of the event to the left (ie, compressing the event in width on the timeline)?

Here's a way to do it on the timeline: Press and hold the control key. Then grab the right edge of the event and drag it to the left. (Or grab the left edge and drag it right.) This should do it; you'll see a squiggly line through the event indicating that the replay speed is altered.

As it turns out this won't allow you to go past 4 either. So, what you'd need to do is to change the replay rate as high as it will go, then render that section of the timeline out to an avi file, then put that on the timeline. Lather, rinse, repeat until it is as fast as you need.

To get the voice over, just add the voice over section of audio underneath the clip in question.

Thanks for the compliment - but really most of what I know is from this forum or from searching various Vegas 5 tutorials and converting them to MS terms.
Actually I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the regular posters here - of all the forums I watch this has to be the best.
