Question for the grandmaster SonyEPM

cheroxy wrote on 3/9/2004, 10:01 AM
Dear Mr. SonyEPM,
I always love your posts as they are very insightful and helpful, but I have a question that has been gnawing away at my curiosity. What does EPM stand for?

Does it mean...
Exceptionally Professional Manager?
Erudite Parsimonious Managarie?
Err uhm, Please Move?
Everythings Possible with Me!?

Any reply that would help satiate this desire for knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Also, I know that many of us would love to see a photo of the crew to put names with faces. I promise I won't print the pic and put it on any dart boards!
:)
Thanks,
Carson Calderwood

Maybe there should be a contest for a free copy of Vegas 5+DVD for the person who guesses what it really means :)

I'm guessing Engineering Projects Manager.

I would guess Electronic Post Manager. Not funny, but probably on the money.

Ok, I finally figured it out, gotta love google!

Tagged along for some rounds. Learned that EPM stand for Equine Parasitic Myopathy (I think.) It's a parasite that attacks and destroys nerves in the spinal cord. It can be very damaging. Walked a horse (first time at the clinic). Observed lameness tests (bending joints then trotting). Observed and sort of assisted in a minor surgery. They were making a healing wound look nicer. The wound was healing, but had an extra fold of skin that was rolling under. They took out that extra roll and sewed the edges of the cut together, making it heal more neatly. The "assisted" part that I got to do was hold the horse's head up so she wouldn't lean on the stocks and cut off her airway. And that's it for today!

I think SonyEPM does more than deal with electronic post! I get the impression he oversees the direction of Vegas and of course is involved in programming. If memory serves correctly, his name is [Elvis Presley's Mother]

I wonder how long EPM will let this thread go on for before he puts us out of our misery...

He may be a good politician. The less you say, the more they talk about you.

My guess is electronic post/postings manager/moderator.

But since it's merely his handle on this forum, it might well mean Eileen P. McGillicuddy, a favorite aunt.

"External Personnel Manager"

The internet enables a good forum community like this one to rally around Vegas and provide constant feedback in terms of how we use the tool, what features we'd like to see, and the occasional bug-squashing. This process is invaluable to us as users, and smart companies like SoFo/Sony benefit as well: it all adds up to a large, informal team that helps Vegas "be all it can be."
