question on HD etc

I currently use Vegas Video 3 and am thinking of upgrading soon. My band recently shot a video and it was recorded in HD. My friend that directed and is editing it is going to master it in HD and I guess down-convert it to go on an Anamorphic DVD. My question is this:

Does DVD Architect have the ability to make anamorphic DVDs like this? i.e. they are letterboxed on regular TV's and are anamorphic on HDTV's

Secondly, does DVD Architect have the ability to copy a DVD if he gives me one that already made like we want it?

Thanks for your replies. I apologize if I didn't get all the terminology correct, my director friend is the pro, not me :)

Yes. Just be sure that the project properties (File -> Properties) are set for widescreen. If you're in the states, you'll want the NTSC 720x480 setting. In addition, each video can be set individually, so check the Optimize DVD dialog (File -> Optimized DVD) as well.

It could, but it'd be much simpler with whatever DVD burnin program came with your burner. Most of them have a DVD copy function. On the other hand, with DVDA, you'd have to copy the files off the DVD first and then use DVDA to burn a new one. Besides which, while I really like DVDA's development features, its burning component can be flakey.
