Question on Video Jerkiness and Text Features

I know the full version of Vegas has more features but is the full version actually better with the features it has? Here's an example -- I use VMS and sometimes when I play videos on the timeline, the audio plays but the video scene shows up but there is a delay and it is jerky.... even though the audio sounds fine... If the preview doesn't allow me to always see the output without jerkiness or ridiculous delays, it's much more difficult to edit. So I'm wondering does the full version of Vegas also have these delays? This seems to be the major problem I keep running into with VMS. (I have a fast dual core PC with 4 GB of RAM so my machine shouldn't be the problem)

I'm wondering, is VMS just a stripped down version of the full version of Vegas or does it have a different core?

I'm also wondering about the text features of VMS versus full-blown Vegas. VMS allows me to do scrolling credits and some other special effects but it seems rather limited... For example, a few things I'd like to do is place text starting at the top of the screen, then after a slight delay fade in more text on line 2, then after a small delay fade in more text on line 3, etc. Can the full version of Vegas do this?

Thanks in advance for any help or information anyone can provide.

Pls. search for "jerky preview" and you will get several hits to this topic.

Having both Vegas's I would say, that VMS is just "stripped down" - I do 90% of my work in VMS and only use the Full Vegas for special things (as VMS -to my humble opinion- is easyer

As to the text features Vegas has never been famous on this point.
What you want, however, can (if I understand you correctly) be done if you save the text after adding each line and then crossfade from one text to the next.
The saving can be done by copying the former text to the next (making a new copy) and then add a new line there - and so forth.
