Question: Quickly! Vegas AVI files in Avid?

kentwolf wrote on 7/13/2005, 2:31 PM
I just submitted an AVI file to be shown at a presentation and now I just got a call saying that the AVI file would not work on their presentation system.

The AVI file is perfectly fine, however, I suspect they may be trying to use it on an Avid system. I thought I read once where Avid NLE’s were finicky about AVI material from other NLE's.

Question #1. Are there known issues with Vegas rendered AVI files on Avid systems?

Question #2. If so, would they be able to use an uncompressed AVI file on an Avid system?

I need to know this pretty quickly seeing it is to be shown in a matter of hours.

Thanks!!!

I would output to DV tape and have them capture that tape into their system. This will be faster than rendering to some potentially incorrect flavor of AVID codec.

This is the first time I have ever recorded to DV tape; I've done to analog many times.

I am soooo glad that printing to DV tape is so easy.

ForumAdmin, than you very, very much for your (timely) help. You saved my life.

My audience is (seriously) about 8,000 people...glad they won't be disappointed. :)

Thank you!!!
